Woman buried after mysterious ten years in mortuary

The community of Isi Ogwa community in Mbaitoli local government of Imo State Saturday seemed to have seen peace immediately the body of late Mrs Leticia Mbataku Ononuju, mother of Owele Ononuju, proprietor of Garden Park business center, Owerri, was laid to rest at their compound, after her alleged ten years of deposit in the mortuary.

At the burial site in Ogwa, one of the community leaders who pleaded anonymity said that the entire indigene of the community will collectively and individually carryout thanksgiving service or appease the gods based on their faith as the body of the late woman has been laid to rest despite all odds.
Continuing, the source described the circumstances that surrounded the death of the lady and the manner in which the family handled the death for over ten years now as appalling and undesired of a woman of her status.

According to him, it was a mirage and conflict with the belief of the community as majority stayed off the burial, which caused the immediate family to hire people outside the community to carry out the exercise,adding that the matter has been in police for a long time because the woman died since 2006.
Her long disapperance as well as delay in her burial was a mystery. 
The source further disclosed that they were glad that the people concerned have admitted to bury the deceased and end the protracted ten year long wait.
He said they decided to stay off the ceremony since the son refused to make the burial a family affair, adding that he has the right to do whatever he feels with the body of his mother.

But he quickly posited that the people intervened because the youth began to protest about the mysterious death that began to strike the community, claiming important personalities and young promising ones.
