If you have bought your ticket for African Modelling Ambassadors Awards slated for 02 December 2016 at IICC, Owerri hold your breath or seek a ticket refund.

Well folllowing several series of reports in local newspapers and blogs on the controversy of the AMAA it seems the Imo State governemnt is likely to bow to pressure and rescind the event.
Several newspapers and blogs carried headlines AMAA to Imo State govt: Beware of impersonators  which indicated that the owners of the African Movies Academic Awards were not taking it lightly that their brand was being used by Prince Chukwu Roland Ogbonna who is the CEO of African Modelling Ambassadors and the Imo State Government.

There are strong indications that the operators of the AMAA  are willing to sue the Imo State Government and Prince Chukwu if their demands are not met.

Recently popular Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has publicly denounced the event  and grapevine insists that Mr. Bright Okpocha aka Basket Mouth has also threatened to sue the Imo State Governor and promoters of the AMA Award brand.

DPB also learnt that some published sponsors of the event have backed out of it.

Well below is a statement from Mr. Charles Tudor who is an expert in patency and its sort.
AMAA [ African Movie Acadamy Awards has the trade mark rights to the acronym AMAA and the brand icon. The award plaque [ the beautiful Nubian ] is also an iconic representation of the AMAA brand. Therefore any duplication or attempt to duplicate same is an infringement on the intellectual and copyright of the original awards.
