Ozurigbo, Nwosu Set To Rescue Football Legend With Cancer

The social media has been awash since the weekend with the news of the ill health of former Golden Eagles Star, Kelechi Emetole who has been diagnosed with cancer of the voice-box and is in need of 2 million naira to take care of a successful surgery in India.

Mr. Kelechi a former national team player and former coach Heartland football Club and El-Kanemi warriors has taken a sick seat with doctors directing he be flown abroad for immediate treatment before the cancer takes another form.

But what can the family with regard to the fact that both El-Kanemi and Heartland still owe him a backlog of salaries according to his wife's statement on Hot 99.5 FM sports show last saturday.

As of today the representatives of the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and the Chief of staff to the Imo State Government presented cash and cheque to the obviously elated Emetole in the presence of his equally elated wife. The donation which is expected to cover the initial expenses for the surgery is a huge relief to the ailing soccer veteran who had almost lost hope of getting the necessary medical attention as the sickness had drained his resources long before the accurate diagnosis was carried out.

The Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo, stated that as a lover of football and Heartland football club he was compelled to carry out this benevolent act because the footballing hero who he referred to as Caterpillar was one of his favourite stars and for someone who had given his all to both country and club as a coaching staff he did not need to witness such suffering.

The team that made the trip included the S.A (Admin) to the Deputy Speaker, Barr. Uche Dike, the P.R.O, office of the Chief of Staff, Mrs. V.O.Onwuka, the P.R.O, Heartland Football Club, Mr. Solomon Mourinho, the the Governor on Electronic Media, Mr. Abasiodu Abso Baba Rochas Pikin as well as Mr. Chinaka Bisike and Supersport Nigeria.

Well meaning Nigerians are also encouraged not to relent in making their donations to ensure the upkeep of the man popularly known as Caterpillar and his family.
Please join Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo {ENYIOHA}and Ugwumba Uche Nwosu to pray for the speedy recovery of Caterpillar.
