Chief Darlington officially joins APC, Calls for greater unity among party faithfuls

Chief Darlington Chimezie of Ndiokwu-Umiyi, Akabo in Ikeduru LGA has joined the list of bigwigs whose interest have gone beyond themselves but with the welfare of their people at heart.
The young philanthropist last week officially pitched his tent with the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in his hometown of Akabo.
Chief Chimezie while speaking to the press made it known that his registration with the APC was to further his philanthropic cause because it is with government access that anyone can actually make any serious impact in the lives of the common man.
He cited the likes of the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, who is a known philanthropist and since gaining government power, he has furthered that cause with the introduction of Free Education and the Imo Foundation, which has several less privileged find solutions to their problems.
He further thanked the Governor and his wife for being there for widows through the She Needs A Roof Probe the (SNARP) which has ensured that widows who have no home get shelter.
Continuing, the successful business man noted that it is for philanthropic reasons he has joined politics because he is fueled by the desire to help the poor and less privileged.
He urged the party leaders to remain united as unity meant progress.
When asked if he was eyeing any political position, the philanthropist did not rule it out saying that if his people decided to pull him out of his she'll to represent them in whatever capacity, he sure won't disappoint them.
At the gathering where several ward leaders of the APC including the SDC coordinator, Architect Akaonye Anselem who noted that Chief Darlington for his philanthropic gestures was already a leader in the community so he will continue to bear that status as a member of the party.
The SDC coordinator further noted that he was part of the group who will deploy the necessary apparatus to ensure that Chief Chimezie's entrance into the party is not in vain.
The ward chairman Hon. Mike Osisioma and the ward PRO, Engr. Uzondu Emekalam agreed that Chief Darlington's entrance into the party was definitely a good idea.
They asserted that he is a big fish without a hiding place courtesy of his selfless actions, from the football tournament he organizes, to empowering the youths, helping windows and even drilling a community borehole that supplies water to the whole community.
The PRO specifically noted that he was excited to have a youth like himself join politics adding that he will encourage Chief Chimezie to run for a political position stressing that by the age of 34, Bethel Amadi had already been elected to the Federal House of Representatives while Sen. Sam Anyanwu was elected Local Government chairman at a much younger age.
Chief Darlington Chimezie runs the Faith of Darlington Foundation that has been involved in several empowerment schemes, medical outreach and sporting activities.
