Table Shaking: Jude Bonnison Comes For HotFM Owerri

Let's not kill time, over the weeks, Jude Bonnison has taken it upon himself to change the psyche of the entertainment sector in Imo State. Using reverse psychology he takes on the different parts of the system in trying to ensure they learn a thing or two from his letters.
Today, we have Hot Fm 99.5 Owerri on trial. The radio station is one of the best things to have happened to Owerri, but they have not actually lived up-to expectation according to Bonnison.
Read his post culled from his facebook page below.

PREVIOUSLY... HOT FM HASN'T DONE SO WELL/MUCH EVEN AS THE NUMBER ONE RADIO STATION IN IMO STATE.

In December 2010, the first indigenous private radio station, Hot FM came into existence. Very superb, fully loaded with entertainment, undiluted music, brief news plus day by day fun filled programs.

I could remember people from rural area calling to contribute in every of their program, the fan base was huge because the programs were very much engaging especially their exciting Saturday's most creative show branded "Battle of the Sexies".

Then, they were pushing grassroots entertainment back to back, Mapped out some programs for the growth of Entertainment in Imo state, such programs include Power Play (Where they feature Imo based arts from 5-6pm daily ) and also feature some grassroot entertainers on their Top 10 countdown, that revolution brought out names like Acharaman, Aify, Mac Donald, Kilogram, Xbusta, and many others from the entertainment and social circle.

Yuba ( Of blessed memory) , Ob Fado, Stifler, Uzone, Eberry, Princess Chi and Solid C held the city of Owerri down with their distinctive voice and styles for few years until their unique value proposition started dropping down, they cut down some of their programs for Politics, Religion, Private Businesses and in chase for more money, they lost their taste. So sad.

There hasn't been enough time to feature some of the aforementioned programs anymore or maintained the standard because the time has been consumed with other activities that is not so beneficial to young folks who love radio because of the impression they earlier had. Radio became less exciting and run low on contents.
How has the mighty fallen or should I say the almighty HOT FM  became threatened by other terrestrial radio stations that came up afterwards?

This is a wake up call to Hot FM, we need the people's radio back, that same radio station that once supported Entertainment in Imo, that most talk about radio station  Where everybody in the radio field wanted to work, let it come back in full revival for Radio stations has got huge contribution to make in the Entertainment industry.
This is my personal opinion, I am still a fan of HOT FM.
